Erica Lugbill, owner of Lugbill Designs, a residential interior design and remodelling firm in Chicago, gives us tips on caulking a shower.
First, decide what caulk is best for your project. For a small job, small tube applicator would work best because it is easy to use. You can also opt to use a caulking gun if you want to. In this project, she used a silicon-based caulk that is washable with water.
Pick an appropriate color depending on your project. Keep in mind that when caulking your tub or shower, choose a mold and mildew resistant caulk.
Before the application, make sure you clean the area and remove grout or old caulk using a putty knife. When everything’s ready, cut a small opening on the tube applicator and run a thin line and run your finger onto the surface. After it dries, wipe out the excess and you’re done.
