In this video, Erica Lugbill, theowner of Lugbill Designs, ahigh-end residential remodeling and interior design firm in Chicago talks about how to fix your thin store-bought curtains.
“No one wants cheap looking bedsheets hanging up in the wall” says Erica. There is a way to fix these super thin curtains, and one way is to buy another panel and bunch them together. This will create the illusion that the drapes are thicker than they actually are. Doing this can fill out the window, which makes it feel more custom.
Another option is to put a lining on the curtain to make it thicker. “Another option is to go to your fabric store, buy some drapery lining and take them to your local seamstress and have her add a lining to your store-bought panel”.
